Bio My Inspiration
"I am inspired by life, love and passion. My work is an extension of myself. Every piece I create is part of my life, good or bad. Sometimes I think of my work as the silent conversation, between me and my creation.. Words I wish to say to myself, words I wish to say to people, and word I wish the world would hear. It is the closest to immortality I'll ever get! Art is after all forever."
My Educational and Training
"I have several degrees, none of which in art. A Bsc in Science, a BA in Theatre, an AA in Fashion Merchandising and an MBA in Business. Growing up in a place where art used to be considered rival to prostiution made it impossible to study art. I always though I would end up doing medicine versus art, so I made sure to take most of the prerequisite classes in med school including anatomy, which I credit for my understanding the human form.
As the years went by, I did everything I could not to study art , although everyone who saw my work said that I should be an artist.. I was a journalist for ten years, an actor, stage manager, set buider, writer, store owner, manager..But I always defaulted to art. It was my escape and relaxation and was effortless. .Finally the day came that I had to acknowledge that it was a huge part of me and I could not deny it any more.
It was in 2006 when I went to apprentice with Master Sculptor Martine Vaugel in Loire Valley in France, and later took a class in stone sculpture with an Italian sculptor named Enzo, that I started working as a ful time artist. Now after years of denial, I am dedicated to showing the world what I can do.
My first show was in Miami in April, 2011. My next show is coming up at Miami Expo November 29th to December 4th, 2011
